FAA takes custody of metal piece found on Barrington Hills school grounds
A metal object measuring about 3 feet by 4 feet was discovered during morning security checks at Noah’s Ark Christian Academy. Barrington Hills police said it may be aircraft debris, and the FAA is investigating.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a metal object found Monday morning on the grounds of Noah’s Ark Christian Academy in Barrington Hills after police said it may have come from an aircraft.
School staff found the debris outside the academy during morning security checks at the United Methodist Church on Algonquin Road, police said. Officers were called at about 8:30 a.m. and described the piece as approximately 3 feet by 4 feet.
The FAA said it has taken possession of the object and is investigating. The school and police declined to release photographs, and authorities have not identified what the piece is or where it came from.
