Charlotte weighs extending freeze on data-center approvals as deadline nears
City Council will take public comment Monday on whether to extend its pause on data-center projects. The current pause expires Nov. 5, and a council vote is expected by the end of October.
Charlotte City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, on whether to extend the city’s pause on data-center projects.
The existing pause is set to expire Nov. 5. Council members are expected to take a final vote on an extension by the end of October, giving the city time to decide before the current measure lapses.
The hearing gives residents an opportunity to weigh in on whether the pause should continue. The council has not yet made a final decision.
