More than 16,000 Marylanders had voted early by 1 p.m. Sunday, as voters at a Perry Hall community center raised concerns about political division and a ballot question on redistricting. In-person early voting continues through Thursday, ahead of Election Day on Nov. 3.

PERRY HALL, Md. — Baltimore County residents began casting early ballots Sunday at the Honeygo Community Center, with political division, campaign influence and Maryland’s redistricting question among the issues on voters’ minds.

The state elections administrator reported that more than 16,000 people had voted early statewide by 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25. In-person early voting is scheduled to continue through Thursday. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Manuel Mastromanolis, who voted in Perry Hall, said he was troubled by what he sees as growing division in the country. He also criticized the role of political contributions and a lack of communication in the political system.

Question 3, a measure concerning redistricting, was another point of concern for voters. Michael Casserly said district boundaries should not be drawn to advantage one political party over another.

Casserly also said voters expect elected officials to follow through on campaign promises, including commitments about war and the economy.

Early voting gives Maryland residents an option to cast ballots before Election Day, while the issues raised by voters in Perry Hall reflect broader debates over political representation and public trust.
