Baltimore County paramedic receives 25-year sentence after guilty plea in workplace case
Christopher Carroll, 36, was sentenced Tuesday after admitting to three counts of causing another person to ingest bodily fluids. A plea agreement dismissed the other charges he faced after a months-long investigation.
A Baltimore County paramedic was sentenced to 25 years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to contaminating coworkers’ food with bodily fluids and recording his actions, according to prosecutors’ account of the case.
Christopher M. Carroll, 36, pleaded guilty in August to three counts of causing another person to ingest bodily fluid. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dropped the other charges, which included 20 additional counts related to bodily fluids and three counts of malicious destruction of property.
At Carroll’s plea hearing, Assistant State’s Attorney Logan Frye described three videos that he said showed Carroll urinating and ejaculating on county property without his coworkers’ consent. Carroll was charged in February after a months-long investigation into alleged misconduct.
The case involved conduct at a public workplace and the safety and trust coworkers rely on in shared spaces. The available case details do not specify where Carroll will serve his sentence or whether any portion may be suspended.
