Georgia voters have until Oct. 23 to request absentee ballots for midterms

Friday is the deadline for Georgia voters to request an absentee ballot for the Nov. 3 midterm election. More than 1.4 million people have already voted, mostly in person, as mail voting trails the 2022 midterms.

Georgia voters have until Oct. 23 to request absentee ballots for midterms

Georgia voters who want to cast an absentee ballot in the Nov. 3 midterm election must request one by Friday, Oct. 23. All 8.2 million registered voters in the state are eligible to apply.

Voters can track an absentee ballot through the state’s My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov. Completed ballots must reach county election officials by the close of polls on Election Day, Nov. 3; mailing a ballot by that date is not enough.

Early in-person voting continues through Oct. 30. More than 1.4 million Georgians had voted statewide as of Friday, including more than 1.3 million in person and more than 69,000 by mail.

The early-voting surge comes as mail voting has fallen sharply compared with the 2022 midterms, making the final application deadline an important date for voters who cannot or do not plan to vote in person.
