An Atlanta man was arrested this month in connection with a February shooting that wounded San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White at a San Francisco nightclub, police said. Three other people have also been arrested in the investigation.

Marquis Davis, 38, was taken into custody in Atlanta on Oct. 7 on a warrant issued by the San Francisco Police Department. Searches associated with the case led investigators to seize an illegal firearm and drugs, including 820 grams of MDMA, 1,026 grams of methamphetamine, 979 grams of cocaine and 3,842 grams of fentanyl. Atlanta police also reported recovering 59 pounds of marijuana.

Davis faces Georgia charges that include multiple counts of trafficking controlled substances, gang-related offenses and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail. San Francisco police and prosecutors are working with other jurisdictions to arrange for Davis to be brought to San Francisco.

The shooting happened Feb. 9 inside a nightclub on the 1700 block of Mission Street. Officers found White with a gunshot wound to his ankle. He was taken to a hospital with injuries police described as not life-threatening.

The three other people arrested are Antoine Washington, 36, Curtis Green, 35, and Gregory Walker, 36. Washington was arrested Oct. 7 in Stockton, California; police said officers found a loaded firearm, more than 120 oxycodone pills and about $6,691 in cash. Green was arrested at his Irvine home the same day, and Walker was taken into custody in Southern California on Oct. 9. Green and Walker were booked into San Francisco County Jail on Oct. 12 on charges including assault with a firearm.

San Francisco police said the arrests followed Operation D-Line, a months-long investigation that involved more than 50 search warrants and assistance from more than 250 law enforcement personnel nationwide. The investigation remains ongoing.
